Model Programs

Find examples of exemplary model geospatial programs nationwide. While no one program can serve everyone’s exact needs, the ones listed here are recognized by the GeoTech Center for their excellence in academic and workforce focus on relevant curriculums that meet the need of the nation’s Geospatial Industries.  If you would like to recommend a new resource, please submit one to the Resource Repository.
 

 

The Institute for Environmental and Spatial Analysis at Gainesville State College, outside Atlanta GA, is renowned for its certificate, Associates, and Bachelor degree programs in Geospatial Technology and Environmental Science.

 

 

The Institute for the Application of Geospatial Technology at Cayuga Community College in the Finger Lakes region of NY brings innovative Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology to the community and the world. IAGT meshes the strengths of GPS, remote sensing, digital mapping, and geospatial data.

 

 

The Geospatial Technology Center at Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte NC is a resource available to the public for the advancement of Geospatial Technology education and awareness. The Center provides geospatial curriculum education, corporate and continuing education.

 

 

The SDSU Geography Department offers a MS/BS program in Geographic Information Science. The department instructs physical, cultural, urban and economic geography, environmental, natural resource and land use analysis, remote sensing, geographic information systems, and spatial techniques.
